Utz opens a new production plant
The Utz Group has been active in France for 30 years. With the move to Saint-Vulbas to the new, state-of-the-art plant, we are further expanding our presence in the region and in France.
Since its foundation in Switzerland in 1947, the Utz Group has grown into a global company with 1200 employees and production facilities in 8 countries. The group's strategy is to further expand its global customer base in key markets such as France with a strong presence. Utz has been present in France for 30 years and has been growing steadily. Indeed the old Bressolles factory had reached the end of its limits, it was essential to have more space to be able to continue to grow successfully. Thanks to the help of the region we were able to carry out this project and continue to develop.
Progressive digitalization is revolutionizing goods and process logistics - both in the world and of course in France. In an industrialized country with around 60 million inhabitants, this means good prospects for Utz. We believe in France as an industrial location and trust our strong local team.
The move to Saint-Vulbas marks the beginning of a new era for our French subsidiary. The latest technologies were used in the planning and construction of the new plant. This will enable an increase in energy efficiency, a streamlining of production processes and the digitalization of production, e.g through machine connectivity.
Opening ceremonies are a tradition at Utz. Unfortunately, however, the plant in Saint-Vulbas was not able to celebrate physically due to the Corona pandemic. Nevertheless, we wanted to have an opening and so a virtual opening ceremony was held on September 24, 2020. Thanks to the successful organization and the tireless efforts of all those involved, the event was a success, and several hundred participants followed the opening of our latest plant online in real time.
